About
I am a PhD student in the Blob lab at Clemson University (Clemson, SC). I am interested in studying animal locomotor biomechanics. My MS research was focused on flamingo locomotor kinematics, which I also completed in the Blob lab. I am interested in continuing my research by studying how animals move through different physical challenges in their environments. My dissertation work is focused on the adhesive mechanisms of Hawaiian waterfall climbing gobies and other sticky fishes. I love weird animals and I use a variety of techniques to better understand their morphology and biomechanics.
As an undergraduate at the University of Akron (Akron, OH), I worked in Dr. Peter Niewiarowski's lab studying gecko adhesion on rough substrates. I fell in love with research, and was particularly interested in functional morphology, biomechanics, biomimetics, and integrating biology with other fields of study. Our lab collaborated with Dr. Ali Dhinojwala's Polymer Science lab.
